Physical Approach

Many of the health issues therapists encounter in their daily work are long term effects of injuries, traumas or inflammations. I have a wide variety of options to address your health issues on the physical level. With Craniosacral and Visceral Osteopathy, Manual Articular Approach, Joint Mobilization, Therapeutic Massage and Myofascial Release I am able to engage and treat different levels of tissue in your body. Combined in the appropriate way these techniques will help your body to find its balance and alignment again and therefore will increase your performance and overall well being.

Spiritual Approach

The discovery of limiting patterns in our energetic aspects of life allows us to find physical and emotional freedom and shows us how to connect more easily with the world around us. Intuitive Energy Medicine can be used as a tool for personal development and to enhance physical health. It is a profound approach to reduce stress and discomfort in our lives and to make a difference in how we perceive ourselfs and the challenges in life.

Homeopathic Approach

At the end of the 18th century Samuel Hahnemann, a German scientist and doctor, discovered the universal principle “Like cures like”. He observed that a disease can be cured by a substance that produces similar symptoms in healthy people. Homeopathic remedies are mainly derived from plants, animals and minerals and are prepared through a series of dilutions and succussions. A detailed interview reveals the characteristic physical, psychological and emotional complaints of the patient and helps to find a matching homeopathic remedy. The principles Samuel Hahnemann discovered make it possible to address acute and chronic diseases at their source and treat them in a gentle but lasting way.

New in Kihei in November 2018

I will start seeing clients at Kihei Physical Therapy in November and will be accepting Workers Comp and MVA. The quality of connective tissue decreases in response to traumatic experiences. In my training I have learned that most musculoskeletal problems have a visceral connection. Injuries, traumas or emotional stress can cause irritation within the organs.  Any restriction, fixation or adhesion of an organ to another structure, no matter how small, implies functional impairment of this organ and can be felt anywhere in the body. Especially patients with chronic symptoms may benefit from the approach of not just focusing on the area of discomfort in order to encourage pain relief. For example, upper lumbar pain or sciatica may be related to the intestines or limited shoulder or neck mobility may have a connection to the liver or gallbladder.  With skilled palpation and gentle visceral techniques the fascial structures of restricted organs can be released and their function improved. Craniosacral Osteopathy is a gentle form of touch designed to enhance the functioning of the membranes, tissues, fluids and bones associated with the […]

Strolling under the skin

Dr. Andrew Taylor Still, the founder of Osteopathy, mentioned the importance of fascia in his early writings. Fascia, also known as Connective Tissue, is a continuous network of fibers that extends through out our whole body and fills all the space there is. These fibers are short or long, branch off in all directions and seem completely disorganized. They may are woven close together or run far apart, are loose or packed tight together. But this network of fibers is by far more than just filling material or padding. Fascia surrounds and connects anatomical structures like muscles, arteries, veins, nerves, organs etc. and does its best to adapt to accidents, surgeries, traumas, bad habits or our sedentary lifestyle. The understanding of fascia/connective tissue is necessary in order to comprehend the dynamic balance of the human body. Jean- Claude Guimberteau, an MD and Plastic/Reconstructive Surgeon, used video endoscopy to investigate fascia in the living body. In his video – Strolling under the Skin – he allows us an impressive insight into the importance of connective tissue. Dive into a different world […]
